“In the October issue we reviewed the IC 600, but now they have made some significant improvements. Check out their specifications at http://www.intova.net/intovaic700.html.
The first thing we noticed is that the LCD screen is now a large 3″ display, more than .5″ larger than the IC 600. Another improvement is the inner liner, which acts as a shock absorber. It is thicker and therefore more secure. This can cause a little difficulty removing the camera from the polycarbonite case though. We imagine that over time it may loosen up some. It is now 7 megapixel (6 for the IC 600). It is slightly bigger and heavier than the IC 600 and it only goes to ISO 200 rather than 400 so this is one limiting factor.
The unit performs much like the IC 600 even with the slight differences. We tried it in the water and out. It still makes great photos and movies. We like the 3″ screen when in the water as it makes viewing much easier and brighter. In a unit in this price range having a polycarbonite underwater case rated at 180′ and have access to all the feature of the camera while in the case is really unheard of. We also had a chance to try out their External Flash Unit. This helps a lot when you need that extra illumination to make the colors stand out.
For this price you can not beat the features and functionality of this camera and flash in combination.”
